Install NotePebble

From this website

  1. Download the installer (NotePebble Setup.exe).
  2. Open it. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway. This appears for new apps from small developers and is expected.
  3. NotePebble installs and opens the welcome tour.

Works on Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit).

Get started

  1. Follow the short welcome tour: your name, an avatar, a colour, and which edge the dock lives on.
  2. Rest your mouse on that edge of the screen. The pills grow into tabs.
  3. Hover a tab to peek. Click it to write. Press Esc to put it back.
  4. Press Ctrl + Alt + N from any app for a new note.

Open the main window from the tray icon to see all your notes, change settings or replay the tour.

Activate your licence

  1. Buy a licence on the buy page. Your key arrives by email.
  2. In NotePebble, open Settings → Licence → Enter a key. If your trial has ended, use the box on the unlock screen.
  3. Paste the whole key and click Activate. You need to be online for this one step.

Moving to a new PC

Email support@notepebble.com with the address you paid with, and we'll free your key so you can activate it on the new computer.

Your notes, backups and export

Notes are saved on your PC as you type, in %APPDATA%\NotePebble\notepebble-data.json. Once a day NotePebble copies them to a backups folder next to it and keeps the last 10.

  • Export: Settings → Your data → Export saves Markdown files plus a JSON backup.
  • Restore: Settings → Your data → Restore, then pick a backup file. Notes you already have are kept.
  • Open the folder: Settings → Your data → Open folder.

Start with Windows

Downloaded version: Settings → Behaviour → Start with Windows.

Microsoft Store version: Windows Settings → Apps → Startup, then switch NotePebble on or off.

Uninstall

Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → NotePebble → Uninstall. To remove your notes too, delete the %APPDATA%\NotePebble folder afterwards. Export first if you want to keep them.
